For the past 25 years, we have been searching world wide for the ideal future of the snowboard, together with the creators who put their original vision of the snowboard into the product, and the riders who have dedicated their life in the form riding. This search has naturally directed us to form a lifestyle with the snowboard that balances nature with the human being, and away from the business oriented mass product and mass consumption. This process was the search for the true nature of the snowboard itself. In the surfing world, which is the roots of the snowboard, the shaper of the surfboard puts their heart and soul into every board that they create. With the snowboard, we feel that it is our mission to create a product that has a “one and only” value with the symbol of craftsmanship with the creators soul. When snowboarding connected with other cultures like skateboarding, it went from being underground to mainstream. Searching for something that was lost when snowboarding became a worldly known major sport and coming to it’s prime and moving on to it’s second cycle, in 2009, we launched T.J BRAND to start on our new journey. Looking back to the roots of the snowboard and touching numerous vintage boards that were handcrafted, what we saw was innovative ideas coming from it’s historical background with overwhelming existence. With the highest of respect, we are heavily influenced from the roots of the snowboard. Going back to it’s origin and starting from scratch, we are ready to announce our original construction methods, ideas, and modern technology of our snowboard products from the far east island of Nippon.
Pursuit of the essence of snowboarding - "FREE RIDE". The T.J ambassadors are made up of mature people who have dedicated their life to riding in mountains, pioneered the path that never existed without letting go of snowboards. Many of the members involved ride through contests and tracing their carving on piste. After that step, we finally reached out where riding in the terrains and into the nature (various snow mountains, conditions and snow quality around the world) was the final point of the snowboarding approach. Also, it may be the most important duty imposed on us to ensure pass on that the wonderfulness of this culture and the beautiful nature to the next generation. The concept of terrains, from there the 3 Dimensions-series was born. And to convey this deep-value of free riding, T.J BRAND goes not limited to manufacturing, continues to search for the next step of snowboarding itself through various movements for riders who raise their skills to the next level.

We tested our own crafted snowboards at the mountain, then takes it to shape that is beginning of T.J Brand. What we are doing is the pursuit of snowboard-manufacturing, the ultimate of further progress. Also, because our generation knows classics (the early days of the culture of snowboarding), so it is shaped as a fison both roots and latest technology. Rather than being a serious and genuine element, for example, try to bring back the essence of the past or make a prototype (boards) with playfulness.
Along with the message BACKYARD TOY from the start, there is a concept of creating a new board as a play tool and to broaden of the snowboard. Snowboard standards that have reached the final form in recent years are rather the result of emphasizing competition and performance. However, many users including ourselves are not so. There are things that we want while not categorizing, just like free run, into powder with freeride, there is a movement to play on the terrain, that is simply We are pursuing the fun and feeling of riding. Under such circumstances, we have created a development base lab called SUNRISE SHRED SERVISE in West Tokyo, to pursuing materials and shapes while repeating our prototypes, and feeding them back to the products. In addition, various ideas such as outlines of shapes and bottom shapes are greatly influenced by the culture of surfing. This is the history why we proceed the products of the Fin, Blanks, Hand Shape, and Shapers series. There is a deep relationship with the Japanese powder snow culture, the powder snow sensation put remind of the original water and it links to the sea.
Both Napoleon Fish and MONEY released in the first year of the T.J brand are original shapes. Napoleon Fish made the shape from a modern version with wood, with reference to the feeling of riding behind the vintage board Performer (about 145cm in length) of the 1980s, development progressed from that point. Based on the feeling of size that We tried to ride and tested with our own plywood board before that. Before making MONKEY, we made only fiber-laminated board and tested. And imitating the original shape of IDENTITY, overlapping their images and completing our own shapes. There is in the base the root of this culture and the respect for revolution.
